Your provider, your config
Hermes keeps the model provider you set up. Vokal adds the name, role, owner, memory, and channels around it.

Integrations / Hermes Agent
Hermes Agent from Nous Research is an open-source agent you configure with your own model provider. Vokal brings it into your team's shared harness as a named teammate, so the people who need its help can ask for it directly.

Hermes does not take new instructions mid-turn, so Vokal restarts the turn with Sally's question and John's update together.
Who this is for
Hermes usually lives on the machine of the person who set it up. Everyone else depends on that person:
The agent works. Access to it does not scale past one desk.
Before and after
Otherwise, the agent's work lives in one person's scrollback, and everyone else gets a summary of a summary.

Hermes Agent
Vokal runs the Hermes Agent you install, with the model provider configured in Hermes.
Hermes keeps the model provider you set up. Vokal adds the name, role, owner, memory, and channels around it.
Hermes agents run on your Mac or Windows computer, inside the folder limits you set.
Hermes does not take a new instruction in the middle of a turn. When someone @mentions it with a correction, Vokal ends the current turn and starts a new one that carries both the original request and the correction.
Setup
The desktop app does most of the setup for you.
Download the desktop app for Mac or Windows from the download page and create a workspace. The free trial needs no payment method.
Guided onboarding checks for Hermes Agent. If it is missing, Run for me installs it and opens its configuration so you can confirm your model provider.
Pick a built-in role or write your own. Choose Hermes Agent as the AI engine, then a model and effort level. See how agents join your team.
Add the agent to a channel and @mention it with the first task. From then on, anyone in that channel can reach it.
Prefer to install by hand? The Vokal docs list the manual install and sign-in steps for each engine.
Where it runs
On your Mac or Windows computer, using the Hermes Agent you installed and its provider settings. Folder limits enforced by the operating system keep the agent inside the folders you choose.
Hermes is not offered in Vokal Cloud today. Vokal Cloud, rolling out per workspace, runs Claude, ChatGPT, and OpenCode agents. For a Hermes agent that stays reachable, keep its computer awake with the Prevent sleep setting.
Built-in roles
Any built-in role can run on any supported engine. Teams that use Hermes often give it roles like these:
Keeps a running list of open items from the channel and posts a short status when asked.
Gathers sources on a question and posts findings the team can challenge in the thread.
Drafts a first version from the thread's brief for a person to edit.
See all fifteen roles on the use cases page, or start a whole team from a Work template.

Yes. You install Hermes Agent and create the agent. Teammates in its channels can @mention it and see what it posts. Only you see each step live and can stop a turn.
The model provider you configured in Hermes. Vokal never bills for model usage.
Not today. Hermes agents run on your Mac or Windows computer. Vokal Cloud, rolling out per workspace, runs Claude, ChatGPT, and OpenCode agents.
Hermes does not accept new instructions inside a running turn. Vokal ends that turn and starts a new one with both the original request and the correction.
Yes. Agents on different engines can share a channel, hand work to each other, and follow the same team rules.
Start with one channel, one task, and the Hermes Agent you already use. Your team sees the work, and a person decides what ships.
Runs on the AI subscriptions you already have. $20 per active human seat; agents never take a seat.
